For those of you who have been following my blog, you know that my mom and dad brought my other lab, Indy, down for a visit while they went to Arizona. We had been having a good time; she was even getting along well with the two rambunctious puppies, but last night Indy passed away at about 10 PM. JJ and I think that she must have had a heart attack because one minute she was eating and getting a drink out of the toilet, and the next she was on the ground with no heartbeat. I have to say that right now my heart is breaking. She was a wonderful dog, and a member of our family, and I can say that we are all missing her very much. My consolation in all of this is that she went quickly, and like my brother, Brock, says: "It was how she would have wanted to go, because she always did things HER way, not the way anyone else would want her to do them." I guess she lived up to her name right to the very end: Independence.

What a wonderful tribute! Indy will be missed but how right that it happened with you as it started:) Know you and yours are in my thoughts and prayers at this time of passage. Love, Gretchen
I'm so sorry for your sad day. It's always great to see a dog that is happy and has an appetite until the end and it sounds like that's how it was. But it's still sad and it always hurts to lose something you love.
bigs hugs today my friend
((((HUGS))))
Love you

Erin, I'm so sad for you and your family. I remember when you got her and what a fun and rambunctious puppy she was! I'm happy for all of the times I got to house/dog sit for your puppies and share in their silly lives. Take care :)
Erin Honey, I am so sorry! I know how much she meant to you and your family. This is so sad, at least she didn't suffer. Its the best way to go. Give your family my condolences. We love you!!
